The Bible says…
God created the universe and everything in it.
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1
God created the human race starting with Adam and Eve.
For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 1 Timothy 2:13
Sin enters the world
God commanded Adam not to eat from a certain tree in the Garden of Eden. If he did he would sin against God and be eternally separated from Him both physically and spiritually.
And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” Genesis 2:16-17
Adam and Eve did not obey God and ate the fruit.
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Genesis 3:6
Death enters the world
Adams’s disobedience allowed sin and death to enter God’s creation and created a separation between humans and God.
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned. Romans 5:12
At conception, we inherit our sinful nature from our father. This sinful nature has been passed down from father to child from generation to generation beginning with Adam.
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me. Psalm 51:5
Every human has been born a sinner and is therefore eternally separated from God.
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
Although all humans have been conceived with a sinful nature, we believe not all humans are held accountable for their sins. See the following article for more information. Where do I find the age of accountability in the Bible?
The Good News of Jesus Christ
The cost of your sins is death, but God has given you a way to escape.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23
God loves you so much, that He sent His one and only Son Jesus to die for You!
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
Today is the Day of Salvation
Now it’s your turn. You are not reading this by accident. God is calling you. Won’t you accept His free gift of eternal life and forgiveness for your sins?
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:2
The A, B, C’s of How to be saved
A) Admit that you are a sinner and must be saved from your sins.
To do this is to repent. Repentance means agreeing with God that you have sinned against Him and turning away from your sins with all your heart and behavior.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, Acts 3:19
For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord God. “Therefore turn and live!” Ezekiel 18:32
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38
B) Believe Jesus can save you
The Bible says that believing in Jesus is the only way to receive eternal life. Jesus died on the cross so that you could live forever. While on that cross Jesus paid for ALL your sins. To live forever, trust in Jesus, and believe with all your heart that He died for you, was buried, and was raised from the dead. Jesus is alive in Heaven right now waiting for you to trust in His finished work.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, 1 Peter 3:18
who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. 1 Peter 2:24
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” Romans 10:9-11
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. John 6:47
Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” Luke 15:10
C) Call out to Jesus
God wants you to respond to His call. You are not reading this by accident. He created you to have a relationship with Him. There is a place in your heart that cannot be filled by any other thing in this universe except a relationship with God. He created you and He placed that longing in your heart for a relationship with Him. No person or object will ever replace this need you have for a relationship with God. He is waiting for you today. Call out to Him.
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13
The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth. Psalm 145:18
For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You. Psalm 86:5
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. Revelation 3:20
God created you and He wants a forever relationship with you. He is your Father and if you place your trust in His Son Jesus you can be adopted into His Eternal Family today.
It is our hope that after reading this you have decided to place your trust in Jesus. If you have, you can call out to God in prayer, and He will hear you.
You can say something like this:
God, I know that I have sinned against you. I know that my sin separates me from you. I know that if left unforgiven, my sin will separate me from you for eternity. I believe and trust that Jesus Christ is my Savior, that He died to pay the full penalty for my sins, and that He rose from the dead on the third day. I am relying on His sacrifice alone to bring me into a right relationship with you. Thank you for forgiving me. Thank you for saving me. Help me to grow closer to you every day for the rest of my life. Amen.
If you prayed like this and believed with all your heart, you are now a born-again believer in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
ALL of your sins against God have been forgiven.
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1
And you will live forever with Jesus in Heaven.
He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. Revelation 3:5
And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. 30 I and My Father are one.” John 10:28-30
And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. 1 John 5:11-13
What’s next???
Purchase a word-for-word Bible and start reading it from Genesis to Revelation. We prefer the New King James Version – NKJV, Legacy Standard Bible – LSB, English Standard Version – ESV, and the Amplified Bible – AMP. These are word-for-word translations, meaning they translate the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek words word-by-word into English. You can research “Bible Translation Charts” to find the right translation for you. We do not recommend using thought-for-thought or paraphrase translations for daily Bible reading. They can be used as commentaries for in-depth Bible studies, but a literal word-for-word translation is preferred.
Strengthen your relationship with God by spending time with Him. Just like our relationships with family and friends, we must spend time with God every day to get to know Him better. Don’t go for long periods without listening or talking to Him. To hear from God, you have to read your Bible. We suggest reading a chapter or two every morning. The more you read the more you will understand what He wants for your life. But any good relationship is not one-sided. You also get to talk with Him anytime you want through prayer. Imagine talking to the creator of the universe anytime night or day. Whenever you have a problem with relationships, illness, money, family, work, fears, sin (just because our sins are paid for doesn’t mean we stop sinning), anger… anything, you can go to Him in prayer, and He will listen to you. What an amazing gift we have as children of God. The Bible says in
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. And, Proverbs 3:5-6
For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you. Isaiah 41:13
God loves it when we place our faith in Him, so strengthen your relationship with Him by depending on Him for everything.
Find a Bible teaching church in your area and start attending. Don’t wait. Hopefully, you have family and friends you can attend with, but if not, you may have to visit several churches before you find one that is a right fit. Once you find a good Bible teaching, Bible-believing Church tell the pastor that you are a new believer and want to be Baptized. He will talk to you about your faith in Jesus and about joining the church. After you’re baptized, join a Sunday School class or a small group and start making relationships with other Christians. Remember, no church will be perfect. As you grow in your faith rely on the Holy Spirit to guide you in your walk with Jesus Christ.
Worship God with all your heart. God is the creator of the universe and everything in it. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, everywhere and He deserves our worship.
“You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.” Revelation 4:11
We serve an awesome God, and we should always remember that He created us, gave us everything in our lives, and allowed His only Son Jesus to die in our place so that we could live with Him forever.
We want to congratulate you for placing your faith in Jesus Christ. We are so happy for your decision to become a part God’s family and rejoice with the Angels in Heaven for your Salvation. We hope your journey down the path of Christianity will be richly blessed.
